Sportweek позвонил вратарю в Чехию и поговорил с ним о велосипедных походах, особенностях русского менталитета и тяге к пению.
— Решение взять паузу в выступлениях удивило очень многих: критики говорят, что в таком возрасте вернуться на лед будет очень трудно. Вас самого это не пугает?
— При должной подготовке мне это вполне по силам. По крайней мере будет дополнительная мотивация; сейчас ее нет. Я уже говорил, что хотел бы и дальше играть в России. Но не в «Спартаке», а в клубе, претендующем на победу в Кубке Гагарина. Такого предложения не поступило; что ж, я готов год подождать. Тем более заняться мне есть чем…
— И чем вы сейчас занимаетесь?
— Летом много играл в гольф, пляжный волейбол. В общем, старался поддерживать физические кондиции. А недавно ездил с женой и дочерью на велосипедах в Восточную Словакию на десять дней. Красивейшие места, мы здорово отдохнули.
— Насколько я понимаю, это только начало: слышал, вы собираетесь отправиться на Байкал или Камчатку. Почему именно туда?
— Я обожаю природу, а там, говорят, потрясающие виды. Особенно на Камчатке – сопки, гейзеры… Я много читал об этом, рассматривал фотографии, а теперь хочу увидеть все это собственными глазами. Сейчас мы с друзьями обсуждаем детали маршрута, прикидываем, сколько времени и денег это может потребовать.
— К организации поездки вы подходите серьезно.
— Логистика уже заняла несколько месяцев. Нужно получить визы, плюс специальное разрешение на въезд в некоторые районы. Письма, звонки, согласования… В России быстро же ничего не делается (смеется).
— Как в общих чертах будет выглядеть поездка?
— Высадимся в каком-нибудь крупном городе с международным аэропортом, а дальше пересядем на велосипеды. Проведем две-три недели на заранее проложенном маршруте, потом тем же манером – назад. В этом вопросе я полагаюсь на опыт друзей, бывалых путешественников. Они на велосипедах объездили уже много стран, были в Казахстане и даже Марокко.
— Вы обожаете изучать географические карты. Откуда взялось это увлечение?
— Мне нравятся карты с детства. Помню, как я штудировал свой первый атлас мира, купленный родителями. До сих пор, если приду к кому-то в гости и замечу на стене карту, первым делом подойду к ней. Наверное, это сидит в каждом человеке – тяга к путешествиям, желание узнать новые места.
— А почему привлекают именно велосипедные походы?
— В 13 лет родители мне подарили настоящий гоночный велосипед. Я был в восторге: вот это подарок! Каждую свободную минутку садился в седло и мчался куда-то с друзьями. Эта страсть осталась у меня по сей день. При езде на велосипеде ты тратишь много энергии. К тому же ощущаешь себя наедине с природой.
— Вы хороший велосипедист?
— Скорее, средний. Главный мой плюс в том, что я не такой тяжелый, как большинство коллег. Поэтому на подъемах мне гораздо легче (смеется).
— Хоккеисты после тренировки обычно ездят на ротопеде. Выходит, вы привыкли нажимать на педали?
— Если честно, я ненавижу ротопед. Конечно, для более быстрого выведения молочной кислоты из мышц после матча приходится покрутить педали минут двадцать. Но при возможности я всегда стараюсь «откосить» от этой обязанности. Велосипед – другое дело, особенно когда вокруг тебя восхитительная природа.
— Сколько можете проехать за день – в среднем, на глазок?
— От 20 до 60 км. Тут очень многое зависит от компании, с которой едешь. С друзьями могу провести в седле три-четыре часа, они физически хорошо подготовлены. Зато с ними по пути мы часто заезжаем в пивную, чтобы пропустить одну-две кружечки. С женой и детьми не до пива, зато и темп у нас более спокойный, прогулочный.
— За свою жизнь вы объездили почти весь земной шар. Какая поездка оказалась самой экзотической?
— Спортсмены обычно путешествуют по одному и тому же отлаженному маршруту: аэропорт – отель – стадион, и без особых приключений. Экзотическая поездка? Знаете, я иногда вспоминаю детский турнир, который проходил в Тольятти. Как называется этот город сейчас – Самара? Ах нет, все так же – Тольятти… Так вот, мне было лет 12, и это был один из моих первых международных выездов. Расцвет социализма, разгар тотального дефицита. Разбитые дороги, разваливающиеся дома, все какое-то мутное, серое… Тогда я впервые осознал, как по-настоящему живет наш «старший брат», великий СССР.
— Еще не так давно вы критически отзывались о России и говорили, что совершенно точно не приедете играть сюда. Что заставило изменить позицию?
— Если бы мне три года назад сказали, что буду выступать в российской лиге, просто покрутил бы пальцем у виска. Я 18 лет прожил за океаном, оттуда Россия казалась страшно далекой и чужой. Потом вернулся на родину, и все оказалось как-то ближе и понятнее.
— За рубежом Россия пользуется репутацией своеобразной страны, многие иностранцы едут сюда в поисках впечатлений…
— Это и вправду особый мир, сильно отличающийся и от Америки, и от Чехии. В Штатах все имеет свои жесткие, четко расписанные правила. В моей стране регулируемых норм значительно меньше. А в России… У вас их, скажем так, почти нет вообще.
— На что еще вы обратили внимание?
— В России деньги играют куда большую роль, чем в США. Там людям абсолютно все равно, сколько ты зарабатываешь и какую одежду носишь. Миллионер и уличный мальчишка могут запросто встретиться в баре и при этом будут выглядеть и вести себя совершенно одинаково. Звезду из себя никто корчить не будет. Важно, какой ты человек, что умеешь делать. В России все не так: здесь имеет громадное значение, какой бренд ты носишь и сколько денег у тебя в кармане. Это определяет твой статус, твое положение в обществе.
— Болельщиков поражает ваше потрясающее спортивное долголетие. Наверное, вы придерживаетесь какой-то особой системы тренировок?
— Главный секрет – нужно тщательно разминаться перед тренировкой и игрой. Почти всю свою карьеру я мучился с травмами паха, они меня просто изводили. Потом стал уделять уязвимому месту особое внимание – укрепляющие упражнения, растяжка. В результате вот уже пять лет такой проблемы не существует.
— Может, дело в специальной диете?
— В принципе, у меня нет особых ограничений в еде. Могу себе позволить все, что угодно, – даже гамбургеры из «Макдональдса». Благодарить за это должен отличный метаболизм, который у меня от природы. Другое дело – наедаться на ночь нельзя. Если голод дает о себе знать перед сном, предпочитаю съесть йогурт, а не кусок хлеба с мясом.
— А как насчет знаменитого чешского пива?
— Могу выпить и пива, и вина – естественно, не накануне игры. Кроме того, в Америке я почувствовал вкус к хорошему виски. Johnnie Walker не очень люблю, предпочитаю более редкие сорта. Недавно жена подарила мне книгу «Самые известные виски мира». На досуге изучаю ее, но знатоком виски пока себя не считаю.
— По ходу разговора вы несколько раз упоминали семью. Весной, знаю, ваша 15-летняя дочь Доминика участвовала в финале популярного телевизионного шоу «Чехия и Словакия ищут таланты». Способности к пению у нее от отца?
— Что вы, я всегда был музыкальным антиталантом (смеется). Весь класс получал по пению пятерки, только мне учительница ставила четыре. А однажды перед каким-то школьным концертом вообще попросила меня не петь, а только раскрывать рот. Я смотрел на нее, выпучив глаза, это было оскорбление. Так что теперь успехи Доминики в качестве певицы являются для меня своего рода сатисфакцией.
— Ваш второй ребенок, 20-летний сын Михал, учится в Америке. Не трудно ли ему в столь юном возрасте одному оставаться в чужой стране?
— Михал закончил за океаном среднюю школу и поступил в Мичиганский университет, изучает там экономику. В Америке у него много друзей, он не один. Посмотрим, как будет складываться его карьера в дальнейшем. Но с учетом того, что он провел в США 90% своей жизни, думаю, он там останется.
